Stop Dirt at the Door: Try to place a durable doormat on both sides of any door used. It’s amazing how much dirt this will reduce throughout your home or office.
Organize “The Table”: Establish one place for organizing your mail, car keys, papers, etc. Each person should have an area for messages to help deal with clutter on the spot.
Clutter Removal 101: If it can’t be put away, it’s clutter! Take this “clutter” and put it into three piles: junk, charity, and undecided. Throw out the junk, give the charity away (to friends and family if this makes you feel better), and put the third pile away until you can decide what you want to do with it. Remove or organize “clutter-catchers” as best as you can.
Storing Your Supplies: Keep all your general cleaning supplies in one convenient location, making them easier to get to for cleaning.
Clean the Right Way: Clean each room from the top down. Dust first, vacuum last. To help ensure you’re not damaging your carpet or rug, vacuum from east to west and north to south. Scrub, wipe, and polish in straight lines instead of circles.
Dust Busting: Replace furnace filter, vacuum bags, and any other filters on a regular basis. Remember to get the vents when dusting.
Manage Your Time: While your waiting for your products to work, move on to another task. (Spray counters, mirrors, and surfaces in the bath and kitchen while you scrub the sink, tub, and toilet. Then wipe them clean.)
